Category FAQs

What should Polypropylene (PP) be used for?

Polypropylene (PP) strapping is the most cost-effective solution for securing light-to-medium loads. It's incredibly versatile as it works seamlessly with manual hand tools, semi-automatic and fully automatic machines. Reels are available on both cardboard and plastic cores to match your dispensing setups. Recommended for indoor use due to low UV resistance.

What should Polyester (PET)  strapping be used for?

Polyester (PET) strapping is a high performance, heavy duty alternative to steel strapping. Made from a minimum of 30% recycled content, it provides excellent UV resistance, making it ideal for outdoor storage and transit. Reels are supplied on cardboard or plastic cores to match your dispensers, and the material is compatible with both battery-powered and fully automatic strapping tools.

What is stainless steel strapping and what should it be used for?

Stainless steel strapping (or stainless steel banding) is an ultra-strong, corrosion-resistant metal strip made for heavy-duty fastening, bundling, and reinforcing. For optimum performance and safety, this banding must be applied using our dedicated tensioning tools and matching steel buckles.

Our Stainless Steel Strapping is Grade 201.

What should Composite Woven cord strapping be used for?

Composite woven cord strapping is a high-strength, lightweight alternative to steel banding. Manufactured from premium polyester yarn encased in hot-melt glue, it provides exceptional tensile strength while remaining flexible and safe to handle. It is designed specifically for manual hand strapping and must be used with high-grip galvanised or sherardised buckles to prevent tension slippage during transit.

What should steel strapping be used for?

Steel strapping provides the highest break strength of all strapping materials, making it the ultimate choice for heavy-duty loads. To fit your specific storage space and usage rates, our steel strapping comes in two distinct coil styles. Standard Ribbon wound, where the strap layers stack directly on top of each other to create a very thin profile, and high-capacity Mill (Oscillation) wound, which winds the material evenly across the full width to maximise the length on the reel.
